The Plaice

had chicken meat and chips was amazing, the tandoori chicken needs to be on everyday instead of certain days. definitely better then the other flavour chicken they put in with it!! one issue when calling the store a male sometimes answers and is very very rude and abrupt. for example you will ask to have salad with the order and he just says ‘k’ then puts the phone down???? puts me off ringing the store quite frankly, i feel like throttling him through the phone very regularly.

Traditional chippie with all the usual fare, plus kebabs and drinks. Generous portions. Good quick service (ring ahead if you want cod roe). I don't like the taste of the box that the chips come in, but it's not a problem to get them wrapped in the more traditional paper. No seats... but that's not a problem. Clean and modernised layout. Most people ignore the double yellow lines immediately outside- however, plenty of parking opposite or nearby on the road.

I have just moved to the area fancied a treat so came here, it was so delish!! The staff were so friendly had a lovely chat and food was hot and fresh! Fish was absolutely massive nicely cooked with crispy bits, perfect juicy scampi, and I asked the lady to drown my chips in salt and vinegar and she knew the drill and they were swimming just how I like them! Curry sauce was so bomb, and good portion size, I always get large cause I love curry sauce and regular isn’t enough for me but actually had some of this left after - they are not tight on the portions! I will definitely be back and can’t recommend it more :)

Best fish and chips shop ever! The quality and taste of the food is 10/10 for me I've been going there since I've been going to school at Gedling Academy and they are still going strong! I 100% recommend the prices are very reasonable for what you are getting too! The best kebab I've ordered Chicken and Donner no other shop can compare and the fish and chips are cooked to perfection.

Go to Phils Plaice every Wednesday. Can't beat it. Chips good, sausage good, kebab brilliant.. Read alot of negative comments, So? Can't get it perfect every time. But will not stop us going back. Staff brilliant, know what I want as I walk through the door Wraps are awesome as well Just had my last Wednesdays night meal from Phils Plaice as it closed for refurbishment. Going to starve for the next few weeks Will be back once it's open again Keep the good work up, to you and all your staff Have been away and missed going to The Plaice. Made up for it tonight, still 100%

Best food, best staff, best customer service!!!!!!! Always clean and tidy, don’t hesitate buying from here. Once you taste the food , you’ll definitely return.
